The 10th Governing Board Meeting of SEAMEO CHAT

The 10th Governing Board Meeting of SEAMEO CHAT was held on 20-21, October at PARKROYAL Hotel, Yangon. At the Opening Ceremony at the hotel on 20th, the opening address was read by Dr. Zaw Myint, Deputy Director-General of Department of Higher Education (Lower Myanmar) on behalf of the Union Minister for Education Myanmar and it was followed by the statement of the Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat read by the representative of the SEAMEO Secretariat.

The Meeting was attended by members of the Governing Board from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Embassy of Lao People's Democratic Republic represented members from their countries. Fourteen working papers were submitted at the meeting for approval and for acknowledgement. Dinner was hosted by the Union Minister for Education, Myanmar, at PARKROYAL Hotel on 20th October.

The meeting came to an end at 11:30 am on 21st October afterwhich the Board members paid a visit to Basic Education Middle school No. 3 Insein which is the school adopted by SEAMEO CHAT for Community Involvement programme. From the school, the Board members went on to the Shwedagon pagoda.
