The 9th Governing Board Meeting of SEAMEO CHAT was held on 23-24 September 2010 in SEAMEO CHAT, Yangon, Union of Myanmar. The Meeting was attended by Members of the SEAMEO CHAT Governing Board from SEAMEO Member countries, namely,  Myanmar,  Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam together with Deputy Director of SEAMEO Secretariat,  Programme Officer II of SEAMEO Secretariat, and Acting Director of SEAMEO CHAT. The Ambassador from the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines and officials from the Embassies of Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR represented the respective Members from their countries.
       The Opening Ceremony commenced with the address of U Zaw Htay, Director General of Higher Education, Lower Myanmar on behalf of Dr. Chan Nyein, Minister for Education. The address was followed by the remarks of Dr. Tinsiri Siribodhi, Deputy Director of SEAMEO Secretariat who also gave the video presentation on SEAMEO Integrated Report 2008/2009.
       The sessions of the Governing Board Meeting took place at 10:30 am after the Opening Ceremony. Eleven working papers; one on the matters for acknowledgement, six on matters for approval, and four on matters for information, were presented at the meeting.
Dinner was hosted by HE Dr. Chan Nyein, Minister for Education on 23rd September at 7:00 pm at the Chatrium Hotel.
       The 9th Governing Board Meeting concluded with the Closing Remarks of the Chairperson on 24th September at 11:00 am and the lunch was hosted by the Director of SEAMEO CHAT at the Inya Lake Hotel. After lunch, the Board Members paid a visit to the Basic Education Middle School No. 3 Insein and then to the Shwedagon Pagoda.
